The journey to recreate this component began by taking a flawless original part and capturing its every detail using high-precision 3D scanning. This digital blueprint was then used to 3D print a perfect master pattern for creating a new sand-casting mold. The result is a faithful recreation that captures the exact external form of the factory original.
Instead of the original gray iron, we chose to cast this essential part in high-strength Ductile Iron. This modern material offers significantly greater strength and ductility (resistance to cracking) than the original, providing an enhanced ability to withstand the constant pressure pulses and vibrations from the cross head pump.
Sold as an Unmachined Casting
To provide maximum flexibility for restorers, this part is sold as a high-quality, raw ductile iron casting. It is designed for final machining by you or your machinist. The critical areas that require finishing are:
